The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has said that 50 terrorists were killed in Kawuri, Borno state

The Nigerian Army has reportedly scored a victory against Boko Haram as 50 insurgents were killed during a raid today.

The operation took place Yesterday September 6, 2014 in the Kawuri area of Borno state and the news was disclosed by the Defence Headquarters via its Twitter handle @DefenceInfoNG

The tweets read as follows:

UPDATE: Over 50 terrorists died this afternoon as troops raided their hideout in Kawuri before setting out on a planned attack on Konduga /1

…1 Fabricated Artillery Gun, 2 Anti – Aircraft gun, an armoured vehicle and assorted types of ammunition were captured in the process /2

Some hardware, weapons, food items and personal belongings were also destroyed in the #KawuriRaid /3

One (1) Officer and Two (2) Soldiers were seriously wounded
