Ligue 1 outfit, AS Monaco are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea forward Fernando Torres.
The big spending municipal side are believed to have turned their attention to securing Torres following the departure of James Rodriguez to Real Madrid. Monaco are looking to strengthen the squad ahead of next season domestic and continental challenge.
Apart from Monaco, Torres former club, Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing the forward, however, the player’s wage demands could make any potential return to Spain difficult.
Also, the La Liga champions are offering Chelsea £15 million for the forward, the London side are reportedly demanding a £20 million fee from for the player, and Monaco are believed to be willing to meet that fee.
Chelsea paid Liverpool £50 million to secure the services of Torres in 2011, however, the forward has struggled for form since making the move to Stamford Bridge leading to speculations regarding is future at the club.
The Spain international chances of playing regularly for Chelsea looks unlikely following the signing of his national team colleague, Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid this summer.
