BREAKING NEWS: Rodriguez Pens Madrid Deal.

Colombian star James Rodriguez has passed his medical at Real Madrid as he completed his move to the European Cup champions.

“Real Madrid C. F. have reached an agreement with AS Mónaco FC to buy James Rodríguez, who will join the club for the next six seasons,” read a statement on Madrid’s official website.

“The player will be presented today, Tuesday 22 July, at 20:00 CET, in the Santiago Bernabéu’s presidential box.”

The 23-year-old left the Sanitas La Moraleja hospital in Madrid after his medical earlier this morning, telling the Spanish media that “everything went well” and that he was “very happy”.

The former Monaco forward’s deal with the Galacticos is worth a reported 80 million euros (R1.1 billion), which will be made public when he will be officially unveiled to the media later this evening.

Rodriguez, who set this year’s World Cup alight with his stellar displays and breath-taking goals, was the Golden Ball winner in Brazil, with six goals, while his well-taken volley against Uruguay in the Round of 16 was voted as the tournament’s best goal.

Rodriguez is believed to be inheriting the number 10 jersey at his new club, last worn by German midfielder Mesu Ozil two seasons ago before his departure to Arsenal.
