25 Borno Villagers Feared Killed In Fresh Border Attacks

AS violence remains unabated in Borno State, gunmen suspected of Boko Haram sect in over a dozen Toyota Hilux vehicles and motorcycles Sunday attacked four villages, and shot dead 25 people with the torching of several houses and shops with explosives and petrol-bombs, before fleeing towards the border village with Cameroun.

The gunmen, according to Modu Bukar, ambushed the villages between Dikwa and Marte towns in army uniforms; and disguised as patrolling the road, before shooting any person at sight that attempted to flee.

Confirming the incident Monday in Maiduguri, a military source, who was not authorized to speak said that the insurgents are on “rampage attacking villages,” while fleeing their destroyed training camps and hideouts in Northern Borno.
